Seiko 5. I am very happy with it and it is very handsome. Although if it stays running for a week of so it gains about 2min.

I’ve got a Seiko 5 as well. Blue dial with the stainless band and case. It’s a very solid watch and the change in time is pretty negligible and easy to fix with the twist of the crown. I now have a Pebble Time that I wear most days and the Seiko has been retired to a “I want to look nice today” watch. All-in-all a very good buy.

I haven’t see the blue dial I’ll have to look into it. Is it like a navy or a cobalt?

Nice. My Seiko 5 “Speed Racer” is currently dead, because the chrome ring that surrounded the date window got loose from the face of the watch and jammed in the hands. I could get it fixed, but it would cost almost as much as a new 5. ETA - the things are super durable. I beat the tar out of that watch working outdoors in the Texas sun for several years before it broke down. That’s a nice watch you have there that should last a long time if you don’t try to kill it.

You’re right they keep pretty crappy time. I never wore mine on weekends, so it stopped running by Monday and I would set it then.

Thanks. Seiko is definitely bang for your buck. It was amazingly cheap on Amazon.

(New here, commenting anyway) Congratulations! Seiko makes a great product within their price range. Wear it as often as possible for about 6 months. Then judge the rate issues. It is common for mechanical watches to “settle” a bit and improve with wear. If not, find a watchmaker in your area and have them adjust it. Won’t cost much and should greatly improve rate results. Also assuming you don’t wear it to bed, change the position you lay it down in at night, (on its back, crown up, crown down) you may find one that results in it running slower or faster overnight, compensating for the variation.

Thanks!

And the Speed Racer is a good looking watch sorry it died on you. The nice thing is they aren’t crazy expensive to replace. Especially if you shop online.

That is a good looking watch. Looks like you can dress it up or down depending on your mood.

Thanks for the tip I am new to automatic watches so I had no idea those little remedies could maybe fix the situation. I will look into it.

And don’t worry if you are new here! Post as often as you want. After you have built up your comments on posts you can ask for authorship and you will be out of the grey!
